We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pathology Assistant to join our pathology department. Pathology Assistants play a crucial role in supporting pathologists and laboratory operations by performing a variety of technical and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biology, anatomy, and pathology procedures, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Assist pathologists in the preparation and performance of post-mortem examinations (autopsies) and surgical pathology procedures.
Prepare surgical specimens for examination, including gross description, dissection, and sampling for microscopic analysis.
Perform macroscopic examination of specimens and accurately document findings.
Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of specimens according to laboratory protocols.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments used in pathology procedures.
Assist with the preparation and maintenance of laboratory solutions and reagents.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pathology laboratory and work areas.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
Assist in the training and supervision of pathology residents, medical students, and other laboratory personnel.
Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure accurate and reliable laboratory results.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and departments to facilitate effective patient care and diagnosis.
