Job Description

On assigned projects, the Project Manager is responsible for managing the project team, and for delivering projects on time and on budget. They are also responsible for the administration of prime contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders, as well as preparation and submission of all required management reports. Project Managers should be able to identify potential risks and develop cost-effective strategies to eliminate or reduce such risks.

 

SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES

•In-depth review of the original estimate with the estimating department

•Developing and implementing a comprehensive construction schedule, with superintendent assistance

•Orchestrating the timely procurement of all subcontractors and suppliers

•Assuring issuance of required building permits, certificates of insurance, and related documentation

•Assuring receipt of certificates and specialty insurance coverages from subcontractors and suppliers

•Creating and accurately maintaining financial reporting for projects, project logs, and other records in a

timely manner

•Reviewing and properly processing change order requests from subcontractors and suppliers

•Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment to the owner as required by contract

•Collect payments from the owner in a timely manner

•Lead weekly onsite Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings

•Other duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

•Bachelor’s degree in building construction, architecture, engineering desired, but not required

•5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the commercial construction industry

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

•Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

•Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time

•Must be able to commute to different jobsite locations throughout the Austin area as required
