Crosspoint Bible Church (Honesdale, PA) – Pastor

The Big Picture

Crosspoint Bible Church ( founded in 2019, is in search of our first full-time pastor. We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant, truth, and should be preached as such even if it is unpopular or politically incorrect. Our emphasis is on missions and evangelism, seeking to reach the local community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and disciple and edify its membership. Crosspoint Bible is a congregational rule, complementarian, cessationist, non-Calvinist church. We are a non-denominational church and is Baptistic in theology. The Candidate

The man we are seeking should embody the description and character found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, preach God’s Word and through his example lead our church into a closer relationship with God. Preference will be given to an experienced pastor with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministries or related field. While it is not required we would prefer a pastor who is married and his wife and family are supportive of and involved in his ministry.

The Church

Crosspoint Bible church is located in Honesdale, a small community in northeast Pennsylvania. We currently have Sunday morning Worship service, Sunday School, Wednesday night prayer meeting, children’s ministries, youth ministries, and ladies Bible study. Our average Sunday morning worship attendance is 70 – 80, men, women, and children, well diversified in age, ranging from babies to older adults. The predominant age is middle aged adults with children. Therefore, the pastor must be able to minister to all age groups in varying degrees of Christian maturity.

The Job Description

• Preaching and teaching the Word

• Officiating Special Services such as Baptisms, Funerals and Weddings

• Pastoral Care Ministries

• Visitations

• Overseeing the church staff and various ministries of the church

• To provide leadership and work with the Elder Board to help establish a

vision

• Help provide spiritual leadership in teaching, training, and mentorship

with future leaders

• As summed up in Ephesians 4: 11-13 For the building up of the saints,

for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ

• There may be other responsibilities and duties assigned as the ministry

grows

• The number of hours expected for the work week will be as many as

needed to accomplish the task at hand

The Compensation

In regards to our salary we are negotiable depending experience. We are in the ballpark of a package of 50k to 80k which depending on wants and needs of the pastor. We would hope to increase as the congregation builds having a first consistent pastor.
