Job Description
*Medical Lab Technician or Medical Technologist*
Marshfield Medical Center – Dickinson is a fully integrated medical campus that provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient health care to residents in upper Michigan and northeast Wisconsin.
* Status: 7/70, night shifts, 8 PM – 6 AM, or as assigned.
* Weekend Rotation: Yes
* Holiday Rotation: Yes
* On-call Rotation: No
This position performs laboratory procedures in all areas the general laboratory; responsible for performing and evaluating quality control, performing routine maintenance, identifying, and resolving system problems, and assuring the quality of test results; maintains competency in recognizing the interdependency of tests and conditions that affect test results, participates in continuing education, works cooperatively as a member of the team.
Requires:
* Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent. (Medical Lab Tech)
* B.S. Medical Technology or equivalent (Medical Technologist)
* Must be able to work and make sound judgments with minimal direct supervision
* Must be able to perform and document testing reliably and according to procedure
* Must be able to evaluate complex systems utilizing quality control techniques
* Must communicate effectively and prioritize appropriately
* One year of experience preferred
* MLT (ASCP) certification or eligible – OR - MT (ASCP) certification or eligible
