Job Description

The schedule 9:00am_5:30pm will still be flexible to later hours a few times a week.

+ DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION

• To provide accurate, professional medical interpretation for LEP (limited English Proficiency) patients at BMC and affiliated outpatient services.
• POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

+ Experience: + Two years preferred, interpreting for people with limited English proficiency, in offical or unofficial capacity. Can include medical, legal or business translation. + Education and Training:

• High school diploma required, some college preferred.
• Area Health Education Center Medical Interpreter Training Program course or equivalent.

+ License, Certification & Registration: + CMI or CHI certification preferred. + Other Requirements: + Must have a telephone, reliable transportation, and ability to be on-call, understand role and boundaries of an interpreter. Strict adherence to confidentiality policy. Berkshire Health Systems
