Introduction:

We are seeking reliable, quick-to-adapt to changing schedules and work locations, organized, have an eye for detail, and compassionate Life Skills Coaches to join our Weekend Float team and to work as a helpmate to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Life Skills Coach will assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication management, and provide companionship and support to ensure that each individual has the opportunity to live a beautiful life.

The float team is comprised of 4-5 Life Skills Coaches that will rotate through all of our Residential Home's weekly. They will provide support to homes with callouts by the regularly scheduled staff. To ensure each float team member stays informed and educated on individuals, and homes, your schedule will allow you to be in each home every week even if there is not an absence to cover that day. This ensures each coach is always up to date on plans and protocols and stays in touch with individuals to help provide continuity of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene assistance.
  • Assist with medication management and administration, as directed by a healthcare professional.
  • Guide individuals in preparing meals, providing assistance as needed to ensure safety.
  • Provide companionship and engage in activities such as reading, conversation, light exercise, arts and crafts, and exploration of the community.
  • Provide guidance to individuals on how to complete light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, basic cleaning, and yard work.
  • Assist with errands and transportation to appointments, using your personal vehicle as needed.
  • Report any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate staff member.
  • Record activities of the day, and medications dispensed using proper forms and technology.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor
  • Ability to follow care plans and adhere to medication schedules
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and assist clients with mobility, as needed
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Safe insured/registered vehicle
