Ciao, Gloria   is a neighborhood cafe and bakery in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn.

We are looking for experienced Bakers   to be a part of our small, but mighty team.

Primary Areas of responsibility:

• Daily preparation, production, and finishing of all baked items for AM and PM; including scaling, mixing, and baking products
• Product knowledge
• Follows recipes, portion controls, pars, and presentation specifics
• Facility cleanliness and NYC DOH food safety standards
• Maintains a clean, safe and well-stocked workstation, kitchen area, storage area and walk-in
• Uses / maintains all equipment in station properly
• Assists with waste management and inventory, properly reporting loss, spoilage and pars

Skills and Requirements:

• Willingness to work morning and weekend   shifts, as needed
• Proximity to cafe in the Prospect Heights neighborhood and/or a willingness to commute
• 2 year minimum New York City baking production or restaurant pastry experience or comparable
• Formal culinary school training a plus
• Strong grasp of fundamental baking and pastry techniques including, but not limited to; bread making, doughs, batters, decorating and finishing.
• Experience with   cake decorating; cake baking and buttercreams
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Experience/understanding of working in a commercial kitchen
• Ability to work alone or with little supervision
• Be focused and punctual
• Knowledge and passion for Italian food and baking a plus
• Food handler certified by NYC DOH
