Job Description:

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Administrative Assistant to join our team, supporting a large project at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Administrative Assistant will play a key role in preparing reports and documentation, creating graphics presentations, coordinating meetings and conferences, and performing general administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare reports and other program documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Create and edit graphics presentations to support meetings and project deliverables.
  • Plan, coordinate, and schedule meetings, conferences, and events, ensuring all logistics are managed effectively.
  • Perform data entry, filing, and document reproduction tasks in a timely and organized manner.
  • Proofread and edit documents, applying familiarity with specialized and technical terminology.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure all administrative tasks are completed efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • 6+ years of experience in administrative support or a related role.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations.
  • Basic typing and PC computer skills, with familiarity in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting administrative functions in a federal government or healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with specialized terminology relevant to the Department of Veterans Affairs or similar organizations.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Eligibility:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.

Compensation:

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including location, the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The proposed salary range for this position is $25,000 - $45,000 as a full-time employee or up to $30.29/hr. as a 1099 contractor.
